North Hastings and the Bancroft tourism region is a splendid four season recreational playground. Bancroft, the centre of note, is the rockhound Mineral Capital of Canada boasting more than 1,600 species of minerals in more than 10,000 identified deposits. The Rockhound Gemboree civic holiday weekend annually attracts thousands of rock hounds and geologists.
